A Colorado notary acknowledgment is an official verification form signed and sealed by a notary public confirming the authenticity of an individual’s signature on a document. In order to get an acknowledgment, the signatory must appear before the notary, present identification, have the notary review the document and witness their signature, and receive a certificate with the notary’s signature and stamp.

A notary public can hold a term of office four years before renewal (§ 24-21-521(6)).

Is Online Notarization Legal in Colorado?

Yes, remote online notarization (RON) is permitted. The state statutes were amended after the passing of Senate Bill 20-096.
